Town of Pulteney Historian Report
February 2010
I have started to put the Glenview Cemetery records on a spreadsheet. It will take a long time because
while I'm doing it, I'm also cross referencing other places for information to make sure everything is as
accurate as it can be.
I found in the records that a 5 year old boy died in 1888 from "summer diarrhea". I have no idea if there's a
"winter diarrhea" or not !!!!!!!!!!.
I have e-mailed Marilyn Pierce regarding her request on family from Pulteney. I am compiling some
information to mail to her. Her ancestor, Seth Pierce, was one of the first settlers in the Town of Pulteney. He
arrived here around 1806.
I visited with Eleanor Frisk's daughter Helen a couple weeks ago. She said she had some old pictures of
the store that her mom owned and will send them to us because the store was so much of a part of the town
history. Buildings over the years are falling down or burning up so the pictures are wonderful to remember how
the town looked many years ago. I hope we receive more from people.
We also have received a picture of Clara Stone and Jerry Cole from Nancy Cole for the "Military Wall".
Because the "Wall" will now be full, I need to research who put up the cork so we can buy some more and
put it up to accommodate more pictures as we receive them.

Mrs David Pizura stopped by to get information on the house they're renovating. Unfortunately, I don't seem
to have any information on it. On the 1873 map, it appears that the Bonney's lived there. I couldn't find any file
for that family. I gave her what I could find through the census. If anyone has old pictures of houses in our town,
they would be greatly appreciated.
Donations given to Town of Pulteney
We received an old picture from the Waterloo Historical Society taken by F M Foster. He was a
photographer here in town. He lived where the O'Malia property is now. His father owned the stone winery on
Cross Street. I have read Frank Foster's diary, so it's nice to see one of his photographs.
Response: I sent them a thank you note.
