The Town of Pulteney is situated in the northeast corner of Steuben County, on the shores of Keuka Lake, and overlooking scenic Bluff Point. Bounded on the north by Jerusalem in Yates County, east by Keuka Lake, south by Urbana, west by a portion of Urbana and Prattsburgh. According to the Steuben County Planning Board (1991), the Town of Pulteney encompasses about 33.2 square miles. The Town is governed by a Town Supervisor and four Board members.

Pulteney, is in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York. Our unique geographical conditions including climate, soil and the moderating influences of our beautiful Keuka Lake provide the ideal conditions for growing fine wine grapes. Row upon row of vineyards cover the surrounding hillsides for miles around creating a picturesque setting. Visitors from around the world enjoy spending a day, a week or more exploring the shores of Keuka Lake, the most picturesque of New York’s pristine Finger Lakes.

A Special Reminder – Please be very careful of our neighbors. When driving through Pulteney, you will come across horse and buggies along our country roads. Please make special allowances. When you find yourself behind one of these slow-moving vehicles just use some common sense, patience, and enjoy our World Class scenery.
